Investigators await autopsy findings

Published December 23, 2005

County Judge Chuck Superville returned to work early this week following funeral services for his sister-in-law in Houston.

“It was a horrible tragedy,” Superville said of the death of Melinda Superville. “She was loved by everyone.”

Superville returns to Houston today to be with his older brother, Thomas Superville, for the Christmas holidays. The judge plans to be back at work Tuesday.

Superville said he expects his sister-in-law’s death to be ruled either an accidental or intentional overdose of prescribed medications.

“She was wrestling with some problems of depression that I did not know about,” Superville said.

After a week-long search, Houston police found her body Dec. 9 in an abandoned house near the chiropractic office she and her husband shared.

The judge said it could be weeks before a final ruling is made in the case as investigators await complete autopsy reports.

Superville expressed gratitude for the concern Paris people have expressed about the family tragedy.

“It’s nice to live in a community where people truly care about one another,” Superville said.
