Lady Pats, Lady Eagles clinch district titles

Prairiland’s Lady Patriots capped off another impressive regular season by defeating DeKalb by scores of 25-18, 25-15, 25-21 on Tuesday to secure the District 12-2A championship.
Prairiland (31-9, 13-1) entered the match tied with Chisum for first place, but Chisum fell to Hooks in five games and allowed Prairiland to finish the day as the lone winner of the district.
The Lady Patriots receive a bye in the bi-district round and advance to play in an area-round match, which is scheduled to be played in the time period of Nov. 5 through Nov. 7.
Chisum is scheduled to face the third-place team from District 11-2A in the bi-district round, which is set to be played either Nov. 2 or Nov. 3.
Taylor Skidmore led the Lady Patriots with 13 kill shots in Tuesday’s match, while Sara Beth Upchurch added 10 kills of her own.
Courtney Daniel was the team leader in assists with eight. Upchurch led the team with 15 digs.
Prairiland had 11 service aces in the match, with Kelsey Klingler claiming four of them.
Detroit wins District 17-A
DETROIT — The No. 9 state-ranked Detroit Lady Eagles clinched the District 17-A championship with a 25-19, 25-15, 25-22 victory over the Roxton Lady Lions on Tuesday.
Detroit (33-3, 11-1) is scheduled for its final district match on Friday against James Bowie. As the No. 1 seed in District 17-A, the Lady Eagles will receive a bye in the bi-district round and are scheduled to square off against an opponent in the area round on Nov. 5, Nov. 6 or Nov. 7.
In Tuesday’s match, Kyetta Lewis was the team leader in kill shots with 12. Brianna Williams added 10 kills and Adrienne Bronner had six kills.
Brooke Griffin had 23 assists for the Lady Eagles. Cady Hammett had nine digs.
