Clarksville hosts 29th annual Fall Bazaar

CLARKSVILLE — The 29th Annual Fall Bazaar, featuring the Red River Quiz Bowl, will take place Saturday in and around the historic old Red River County Courthouse.
Events will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The area around the courthouse will be lined with crafts booths, including hand-painted crockery, yard decorations, holiday crafts, hand-made jewelry, candles and other items.
The Seventh Annual Red River Quiz Bowl will begin at 1 p.m. in the district courtroom of the courthouse.
Students from each school district in the county will compete by answering questions on Red River County and Texas history.
Entertainment chair Teela Hurt said the award-winning Clarksville High School Band and several local bands will entertain throughout the day.
Clarksville Rotary Club will have its annual barbecue behind the Library Thrift Shop.
The Rotary Club also will host the third annual Red River County Duck Race in Delaware Creek at 3 p.m. Duck races will take place along the Creek Walk.
Ladies Auxiliary of East Texas Medical Center in Clarksville will operate the Bake Shop, with donated items available for sale.
Children’s Corner will have crafts, games, an air slide, face painting and pony rides.
The Red River Historical Society will host an open house at the Lennox House beginning at 3 p.m. for those who wish to tour the historic old home.
T-shirts featuring the Red River County Flag will be sold.
The Bazaar is the Historical Society’s main fundraising event.
Proceeds will help in the maintenance of many historic structures, including the DeMorse Home, The Lennox Home, Miss Belle’s House and the Old Church Theatre.
