To the Editor:

I guess the folks down at the tax appraisal office don't watch much news. It has been all over the news about real estate prices being down and foreclosures are way up. Someone forgot to tell them because they are still raising property values and property taxes. Go figure. I just don't understand it. I guess they know they have us just like the oil companies and utility companies and there isn't much we can do but pay. I wonder if they raise their own property taxes the way they do everyone else. I guess I am getting closer and closer to living in that camper. My new tax estimate shows the value of my house is up 43 percent from 2001. I do believe that is too much.
